Our Inn

The grounds of the Eagles Nest Inn were designed to be both gracious and compatible with the area’s wildlife. Rhododendrons, magnolias, dogwoods, native shrubs, and wild berries create a friendly and supportive environment for local forest birds and creatures. Our bird feeding stations are always alive with feathered activity. Home to countless birds, chipmunks, quail and rabbit. Deer can often be seen in the lower pasture and eagles soaring in the sky or perched in our tall firs. Truly a place of nature.

First order of relaxation is to kick off the shoes and sink into a more casual island world. The Octagon style of the house functions as a canopy from the elements, and yet the moods of the countryside seem to transcend the walls. The translation of building style and artistic rendering create rooms of great privacy with nature. Rooms with views so private that to use curtains is your option. Each of the rooms is individually decorated and designed for your comfort and relaxation.

Unwind in the warm waters of our outdoor spa, listening to a frog chorus in early spring or an early evening owl. Watch the fading light of an evening sky behind the trees in the summer. In the fall, an orange Indian summer moon rises in the sky between the tall firs. Canopied and adjacent, the spa is designed for all seasons.

Our lovely second-level library lounge is a favorite spot. Bright and spacious, with a large window seat for reading or contemplating. The window seat provides a refreshing look at the forest and the start of the morning trail to the pasture. The hospitality counter in the library is always well stocked with complimentary coffee, herbal teas, cider, and hot chocolate. Our famous cookie jar can be found there, stocked with freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. You can eat as many as you want. So curl up with a book or perhaps catch up on an old favorite or new release from the video cabinet. Each of our guest rooms is appointed with TV and VCR for movie viewing and a sound box with CD, cassette tape, and radio to set the background music to the way you like to relax.

The living room on the entry level is a stunning combination of nature and art. A baby grand piano wall has a cathedral height scenic wall mural of Saratoga Passage. Guest pianists can indulge in a musical moment. Flanking a twenty-foot brick hearth are tall windows that mirror the firs at the forest’s edge. The unique combination of art and life seem to make the walls disappear and bring the outside in. Imagine a winter’s night with a fire and gazing into evening summer sunset over the Passage. This is definitely a place with moods for every season.
